Business Controller (m/f/d) for Metal and Energy

Metal and Energy represent Speira’s most relevant input factors and key levers for Speira’s recycling strategy and NEXT improvement program. As Business Controller you will be working in close partnership with various stakeholders on plant, Business Unit and Corporate level, playing an essential role in steering Speira’s performance and supporting it in reaching its strategic goals.

 

Challenges that will make you grow

  • Delivering best-in-class business performance management:
    • Financial planning underpinned by clear understanding of business trends and KPIs
    • Evaluation of business performance and insightful variance analysis
    • Developing recommendations to optimize business results and supporting the implementation of improvement measures
    • Presenting performance to Speira’s Executive Management Team
  • Business partnering to support commercial decision-making:
    • Development of Speira’s metal input mix strategy in cooperation with Business Units, Supply Chain and other functions
    • Proactive role in driving Speira’s recycling strategy 
    • Assessment of business cases to support growth initiatives
  • Leading projects and business improvement initiatives:
    • Development of new controlling-tools and processes, also in cooperation with external consultants
    • Playing a leading role in cross-functional projects

 

Qualifications that will get you ahead

  • University degree in business administration, finance/economics or other relevant field, alternatively relevant professional experience
  • 5 years´experience as Business Controller, Financial Manager, from consulting or similar
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn and an analytical and structured working method
  • Proactive approach, with ability to work strategically and implement initiatives and actions
  • Project management skills, ability to co-ordinate effectively cross-functional teams
  • Team-player with the ability to also work independently and not being afraid to challenge, whilst supporting business
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the aluminium industry, especially the rolling or recycling industries, is an advantage
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
